Six Hundred Degrees
This is another one of those times when I wish you could smell the image. Lucky for me, Julie is my neighbour. What she has there is a batch of chocolate loaves baked in a wood fired brick oven. I would suggest doing yourself a favour and try and get your hands on one of these; seriously. The art of this kind of baking also requires a skillful set of hands with an axe. Wood fire means wood chopping... a lot. Thank you Julie for being my neigbour with amazing bread. I think I'll go home and have some now that I've been staring at a picture of it.

Rip Stick?
Laura is one of my favourite people, she is purely awesome. I've never had an encounter with her and not laughed either with or at her so it's always fun when she's around. Her job is to run the youth programs for Parks and Rec. This really is the perfect job for her and she really does do it well. It's probably because in her last several lives she was an 8 year old boy and still embodies the spirit somehow. Whatever the case Laura, you always make me laugh.

A 9 Track Image
Chris is one of my closest friends. He knows more about music than anyone I've met and can play any instrument you place in his hands. Much of his spare time is spent multi-track recording so he can play all the parts himself and get it just right. This image is kind of like that. It is a composite of 9 images in total and a whole lot of Dredd. Now if we could just hear all the photos at the same time.

My Best Smelling Image
This is an image I've had in the back of my mind for quite some time now. I wish I could somehow make it "scratch and sniff" because standing over the scent of that many flowers is really something special. This is Matt, as you may of guessed he owns the flower shop in town. I have the pleasure of seeing a lot of the work they do at the many weddings that I shoot. It's always just right, the brides love them. That is really not an easy thing to do. Nice work.

Art, Form & Function
I've been meaning to take this shot for a long time so I'm thrilled to have finally made it happen. I've always loved Daniela's work, she brings the art of ceramics to a whole new level. Doing everything from large installation art pieces and sculptural art to functional pieces like the coffee mugs in my home she always brings her unique style. I'm excited to see what's coming next! Nice work Daniela.

Surf Design
Stephan designs and shapes surfboards. He also has a surfboard repair shop which I have unfortunately become very familiar with over the years. I have to say though, as tragic as it is to ding your board he does do a fantastic job fixing the destruction. A good repair job can make you feel better... a little anyways. Recently he shaped a board just for me. A board which has quickly become the favourite in my quiver. Thank you Stephan for keeping Tofino in the water. See you out there.

May The Beer Flow
Brian is a man that you want to be friends with. As of tomorrow he will be open for business and Tofino will have it's very own brewery! He was gracious enough to send me home with some beer after I took this photo. I felt the appropriate thing to do was to grab some glasses and have some afternoon beers with the guys in the office. So Brian, I am drinking your beer as we speak and the guys and I have one thing to say. Well done my friend! You certainly have our business... Best of luck to you.

The Music Man
Duncan is my best friend. He is the most talented person I know and one of probably only 12 people that can finish the New York Times crossword. As you can see, he is a man of music. You can invent an instrument today and he will have it mastered tomorrow. You may remember him from such gigs as: DJ Roboforce, Shazam, teaching you how to record on your Mac or cooking your chicken burger. Maybe you've seen him around. One things for sure Duncan; people love your music.

Harder Than It Looks
I thought I'd take a short break from processing the images from this shoot with Nicole to share this one with you. I have found myself photographing a lot of yoga lately and it has inspired me to make it a part of my own lifestyle. Two days ago I embarked on my first yoga session with Nicole. I have to be honest, even as I sit here right now I can still feel that last downward dog. The practice of yoga is way harder than it looks but man does it make you feel good. Thank-you Nicole for the help. And Yes, I will drink lots of water.

A Food Man
Jesse is the culinary mastermind behind The Wildside Grill; a place which provides nearly 1/3 of my total food consumption. I'm pretty sure Jesse perpetually thinks about fish.... maybe not like Troy McClure (Simpsons fans?) but he certainly knows his fish. If he's not cooking fish, he's fishing. If he's not fishing, he's thinking about the next time he can go fishing... and so on. Jesse, you're a strange dude but a good one. And you make one mean fish burger.
